Diario di Bordo – TWISA DAY 2

Milton, Canada – 6 August 2025

Written by Deborah Salvatori Rinaldi – TWISA Brand Ambassador

On the second day on the field, the atmosphere was different: the girls were more relaxed, more confident, moving with that ease that comes when you start feeling at home. The first day helped break the ice; today everything felt more spontaneous, more direct.

As per protocol, we opened the camp with fun-based activities, followed by technical drills and ball mastery, then moved on to situational games and wrapped up with a lively final match.

Training sessions are intense and carefully structured, always with a break in the middle to give the girls time to recover and socialize.

Once again today, we sought direct contact with the girls—we got closer to listen to them, to learn from them. They are always curious about the world around them, and this time I wanted to explore what was inside their lunch boxes, all prepared with incredible care. I went to each of them and asked: “What do you eat?”

Food reveals a lot, and once again it didn’t disappoint. Fruit is undoubtedly the queen of their meals, along with muffins, vegetables, crackers, and a few small treats. I sent the interview/exploration video to our nutritionist, Marco Ballerini, to share my attention to overseas habits, because I know the Ternana Women staff is curious, open-minded, and always eager to look beyond. It was beautiful to see how naturally these girls take care of themselves, and to imagine someone at home who—with the same care—looks after their diet and well-being. Inside those little containers there is much more than food: there is a mindset, a sense of balance, and affection that grows with them.

During the drills, as always, Valentina and Lorenzo added a bit of our identity into the methodology. Today they did it with a word. To call the extra player in duels, they used the word “FERA.” Now even the little ones at Milton Magic know that the Fera is not just an extra option on the field, but a fighting spirit, a way of being stitched onto the chest of anyone who wears the Ternana Women shirt.

Mid-morning we paused for the official camp photo: the TWISA girls together with the Milton Magic boys, who were running their own camp on the next field. A great group, in a picture that reflects the work we are building together.

Meanwhile, as we followed the camp, I kept an eye on another match from afar… from very far away: our First Team, which trained jointly with Napoli back in Italy and came away with a fine 2–1 win, with goals from Ferraresi and Massimino. (That makes four goals scored from corner kicks— a statistic I’m particularly fond of.)

In the afternoon we went to watch a Milton Magic Under-15 boys’ match. The boys in blue won comfortably, but once again, what struck me most was what happens around the field. Composed parents, no restrictions on entering the pitch, open fields, one next to another, where anyone can play freely. It’s a setting that makes you observe more than usual, compare, reflect.

What we’re experiencing here is not just a camp. It’s a journey—inside and outside football. Every day.
