It was a morning filled with emotion and participation today at the Bortoletti Auditorium (formerly the Church of San Domenico), in the heart of Narni’s historic center, where we presented the illustrated book “Hola and the Big Dream”(now in its second edition).
We chose this prestigious venue for an event we hold particularly dear, organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Narni.
In the front row sat our CEO, Paolo Tagliavento, who emphasized how important it is to “…show the new generations the values and meaning of women’s football…”.
Next to him was our team, proud of its recent promotion to Serie A, achieved ten days ago with the 2–0 home victory over Freedom Cuneo, and who continued their winning path last Sunday by defeating Bologna 3–2.
Behind them, a large delegation from the Istituto Comprensivo di Narni Centro was present, including teachers and around 200 students, some of whom were invited to choose pages to read aloud with our Martina Santoro, impeccable as the event’s presenter, just as she had been at the February 22 event at Terni’s BCT.
Our General Director, Isabella Cardone, stated: “…what happens on the pitch is shaped off the pitch and integrates with other values; this is why the synergy between football and education is fundamental…”.
Also taking the stage was Alessia Quondam, Councillor for Sports of the Municipality of Narni, who remarked: “A wonderful audience. We are delighted to host this presentation of Hola and the Big Dream, just as we have been pleased to host Ternana Women’s matches at the San Girolamo for the past three years. This editorial initiative offers us a different way of looking at football, highlighting values such as dedication and team spirit.”
It was an all-female stage, further enriched by the presence of Valentina De Risi, National Head of Women’s Football for A.I.A.C., and Irene Falocco, President of the Equal Opportunities Commission.
Meaningful contributions also came from Simona Ratini, manager of Almond Entertainment, and from our own Camilla Labate, now recovering quickly from the ankle injury sustained 40 days ago, who wanted to pay tribute to coach Fabio Melillo and the invaluable technical and moral legacy he left.
Following the children’s enthusiastic participation in the reading, Lorenzo Vergani, head of our youth sector, and Deborah Salvatori Rinaldi, head of Communication and Image, also spoke. Deborah closed the event with a sentence that we feel deeply connected to:
“…there is no story without stories, and our stories are yours.”
A morning full of emotions and meaning, confirming how important it is to keep nurturing our dream together with all of you.
