TERNANA WOMEN ALONGSIDE “LO ZOO DI SIMONA” FOR THE TERNI HOSPITAL

Ternana Women renews its commitment to supporting the “Santa Maria” Hospital of Terni, particularly the Gynecology Department and the areas dedicated to maternity care.

The red-and-green club promptly and sensitively responded to the appeal launched by the Terni-based artist “Lo Zoo di Simona,” fully funding the wall restoration project within the department. The aim is to offer warmer and more reassuring spaces for expectant mothers and families experiencing such delicate moments.

“This is a project we’ve been pursuing for eight years,” explains Lo Zoo di Simona, who is collaborating on the initiative with Calzuoli Lab. “This year we finally managed to complete the planning, but three days before the event our main supporter withdrew. Ternana Women appeared as if by magic. I am truly grateful — for the department, for the city, and for the gesture itself. It’s true that one can move forward alone, but no one is an island: when you find support, it’s not just pleasant — it means something more.”

What the project involves

“It’s a multi-step initiative. Today we began with the admissions area for expectant mothers. Next, we will continue with the entrance to the delivery room and the corridors, especially the areas where there are handwritten notes. We are looking for a smart and cohesive way to cover these writings while still allowing people to add names during a moment that is so full of joy for everyone. There will be a large ‘heart-filled’ tree where each person will have their own little house inside a heart. The entire project will take a few months.”

The collaboration between Ternana Women and the “Santa Maria” Hospital has been solid for some time: the club donates to each newborn an official “Baby Fera” certificate along with a customized red-and-green kit, symbolizing the embrace of the sporting community toward its youngest supporters and their families.

With this new initiative, Ternana Women reaffirms its deep bond with the local community and its commitment to turning values of closeness, solidarity, and care — which have always defined the club — into concrete actions.
